Liz Lefroy is best-known for poetry which explores the ordinary moments of our lives. Her work concerns human experience at its most tender: in our relationships with each other, with built and natural environments, and with inner landscapes.
Her poetry has appeared in prestigious poetry magazines and anthologies and she has had several poetry chapbooks published her latest being; GREAT MASTER / small boy (2021).
Kate Innes studied Archaeology and worked as a Museum Educator before publishing her first novel set in medieval Shropshire: The Errant Hours –
Book One of The Arrowsmith Trilogy. Her first poetry collection, Flocks of Words, was shortlisted for The Rubery Book Award and became part of a collaboration with Bridgnorth acoustic band Whalebone. The title poem won the Imagined Worlds Prize in 2016. Her second collection, The Matter, explores mythology, mortality and the natural world.
Ruth Broome - Most days you will find Ruth walking her dog Alfie in and around Bridgnorth and it was on one such walk that she first started writing poetry in her head. Since writing her first poem just over two years ago she has become a published and commissioned Poet, receiving praise for her ‘powerful and beautiful’ poems. A selection of her poems have been chosen to appear in the ‘Hope Collective’ anthology due out this Autumn.
Suzie Pearson’s poetry has been published in various print/online books and magazines. She’s had a couple of ‘Highly Commended’ in LitFest poetry competitions and even braved the world of poetry slams. She tends to focus on the small things and hopes you notice them too. Large book deal yet to materialise, but she lives in hope. Fuelled by tea and biscuits.
Colin Wells is a multiple poetry slam champion who has performed at clubs, pubs, festivals, open mics and venues worldwide including: The Other Place at The RSC, BBC, Granada Television, Disneyland Paris and, more recently, Violet’s Tea Rooms in Bridgnorth.
Colin will be reading from his recent book, Do you want rhymes with that?
Lizzie Prudence trained as a studio potter at Harrow College of Art. Lines of poetry kept finding their way onto bowls and mugs. She contributes regularly to Blithe Spirit - the journal of the British Haiku Society.
She has performed haiku for voice and Japanese flute and has poems in various local anthologies. Singing and writing keep her energised. She never travels without a notebook.
David Bingham writes in a variety of genres including haiku, poetry, flash fiction and short stories. His poetry collection, ‘The Chatter of Crows’, was published by Offa’s Press in 2014. He co-edited the popular ‘Ripening Cherries’, a collection of haiku, tanka and haibun in 2019.
He won the British Haiku Society Ken and Noragh Jones Haibun Prize in 2017 and 2025 and he was short-listed for the Wolverhampton Literature Festival Poetry Prize 2024. His latest collection, ‘The Whole Tangerine’, was published this month (ie August 2026) by Offa’s Press.
